Coronation Lunch - update & change of venue

 The Coronation of King Charles III Big Street Party - Monday 8th May (UPDATE - CHANGE OF VENUE)

 As the weather forecast now indicates we can expect heavy rain tomorrow, we have decided to adopt a "Plan B" for the Coronation event. There is no ideal indoor venue locally to move the whole event to as a totally undercover alternative, however the wonderful people at the Golden Lion have very kindly offered the use of some of their facilities.

Most of the previously reserved seating will be moved to the rear garden (under large umbrellas/parasols) - there will also be some indoor seating. The entertainment will be across both the rear garden of the Golden Lion and the upstairs function room.

On arrival please ask a Marshall (those in hi viz) to help direct you if required. If you have previously reserved seating but decide not to attend it would help us if you could let us know please. Any questions please contact Frances Taylor or Penny Kirkham:

Previous update at 06-05-2023 ....... 

You may have noticed that the weather does not look too kind over the weekend and especially on Monday. We are keeping a close eye on the forecast and are making arrangements for a "Plan B" to be able to continue hosting the street party even if the weather is against us. All our entertainers are primed and although we may have to move things about, we do not currently have any plans to cancel.

 Please do carry on with your plans to bring/order a picnic and drinks or afternoon tea, to enjoy the afternoon! We will keep you updated and plan to try and contact all those who have reserved on Sunday or Monday morning (if you have provided contact details).

We hope to spend a very "British" style Bank Holiday with you, even if it might be a little damp.
