Grants & Financial Assistance


Each year, Magor with Undy Council allocates a small pot of money to assist local groups and organisations these include annual contributions to Monmouthshire Citizens Advice Bureau and the churches of Magor and Undy for the maintenance and upkeep of the churchyards.

In 2024/2025 the Town Council allocated the following:

In 2023/2024 the Town Council allocated the following:

 

  • St Marys Church, Magor £1000.00 (for year 22/23 to assist with ground maintenance costs)
  • St Mary's Church, Undy £1000.00 ( for year 22/23 to assist with ground maintenance costs).
  • Magor Scouts and Guides £350.00 to assist with travel requirements to attend activity weekend.
  • Magor Benefice Churchmens Society/Events Group £571.98 for purchase of storage shed for equipment.
  • Mon Life Summer Games £3000.00 towards activities provided for children and youths.
  • Magor RFC £2420.00 towards upgrading of portable floodlighting.
  • MUCH Trustees £11,000.00 (in part payment of ) Start Up grant to assist with Manager Salary during first year of opening of the HUB.
  • Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) £900.00 to assist with maintenance of service.

 

In 2022/2023 the Town Council allocated the following:

 

  • Mon Life Games (MonCC) £4,114 towards Summer Games for children and Youth Activities in Magor and Undy.
  • Ready Steady Go - registered charity. £475.00 towards refurbisment of premises.
  • Magor Scouts and Guides £3000.00 to assist with increased costs of untilities in order to maintain activities.
  • YUM YUMs Volunteer organisation £500.00 to assist increasing costs associated with activities provided for open door attendees.
  • MUCH Trustees £5000.00 (previously EMR) to meet legal fees.
  • Gwent Wildlife Trust £36.00 - Annual donation.
  • Monmouthshire Citizens Advice Bureau £3000.00

 

 

 

In 2021/2022 the Community Council allocated the following:

  • Magor Rugby Football Club £2000 contribution towards portable floodlighting equipment for evening training sessions. 
  • St Marys Church, Magor. £1000 towards Churchyard Maintenance.
  • St Marys Church, Undy. £1000 towards Churchyard maintenance.
  • Citizens Advice Bureau £3000

In 2020/2021 the Community Council allocated the following:

  • Magor & Undy Community Hub (MUCH)
    £5000 - Contribution towards costs incurred for professional assistance to support their Lottery Bid
  • Citizens Advice Bureau - £3000

In 2019/2020 the Community Council allocated the following:

    £100 - Contribution to event insurance
  • Magor Action Group on Rail (MAGOR)
    £500 - towards day to day expenses incurred in fund raising for match funding

    £249.76 - gift of music stands
  • GWT - Magor Marsh Wildlife Warriors Youth Group
    £1000 - towards 'Wildlife Warriors Youth Group' leaders costs
  • Magor Events Group (Churchmen's Society)

    £500 for day to day expenses to assist in advertising match funding events

    £500 for day to day expenses to assist in match funding events

    £680 towards the cost of the coach to take the Brownies to their summer outward bound activities at Swindon
  • GWT Magor March "Wildlife Warriors"
    £1000 towards the Wildlife Warriors youth project leadership costs
  • Ready Steady Go
    £500 towards play equipment and activities to support autistic children and their siblings
  • Undy Yum Yums
    £100 towards the costs of 'Food hygiene training' for volunteers
  • Magor Undy Crime Prevention Panel
    £500 towards day to day expenses for setting up, advertising and initial purchase of crime prevention goods.

    £100 contribution to 'Big Friendly Read' Children's prize

    £127.50 towards Summer and October half term Outreach Sessions at Magor
  • Clean 4 The Queen
    £225 towards badges for the litter pick participants
  • The Zone Youth Club
    £100 towards support resources and/or sports equipment
  • Magor Players
    £200 towards a new sound system and lighting trusses
  • St Marys Church Magor
    £250 towards the cost of roof repairs
  • Undy Church & Community Hall
    £250 towards the cost of IT equipment and Broadband
  • Gwent Wildlife Trust - Magor Marsh "Wildlife Warriors" -
    £550 towards the Wildlife Warriors youth project

    £600 for an external cabinet to house an AED (defibrillator), available 24/7 to the community, on the Clubhouse wall.
