Be aware and protect your property
Here are some simple tips from Gwent Police...
Never let someone you do not know into your property.
If an official from the Gas, Water or Police etc visits, they will be carrying some form of identity card. Ask to see it. Phone their Headquarters if necessary to verify their identity. If genuine they will not mind you doing this.
Look our for your neighbours, especially if they are elderly and vulnerable, living alone, or just away in work or on holidayReport any suspicious activity to the Police. We may be busy, but we may also be just around the corner - and if we don't know, we can't deal with it. We would rather attend false 999 calls than not get to the one that was absolutely genuine and correct.
