Flooding in Magor

Published: 13 January 2021

Councillors were concerned about the recent flooding experienced in and around Magor and Undy that affected many residents and their families just before Christmas. Some flooding was caused by blocked drains, other due to the Mill Stream breaching its banks. Council are now writing to both Monmouthshire County Council and Natural Resources Wales expressing their concerns; seeking assurances that flooding will not happen again, and asking for details of what measures each agency is putting in place to prevent such a thing happening again. If you were flooded and have any concerns then please do contact the Community Council - you might also find the information on the NRW website useful in what to do before, during and after a flood
