Girlguiding Magor

Published: 25 June 2018

Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK.  We empower nearly half a million girls to be their best and face the challenges of growing up today. We’ve been doing that through adventure, friendship and fun for over 100 years.  Girlguiding enables girls to learn skills, grow in confidence, make lifelong friendships, help their communities and have lots of fun.

In Magor we have had a Girlguiding presence in the village since 1971 when 1st Magor Brownies opened. We have over 100 girls from our community who are in our units. We are really pleased to be able to offer Rainbows for girls aged 5-7 (Mondays), Brownies for girls aged 7-10 (Tuesdays and Fridays), Guides for girls aged 10-14 and Rangers 14-18 (Fridays).  We also have young leaders who often join as part of Duke of Edinburgh or Welsh Baccalaureate at 14 and keep on coming! (We fit the criteria for the voluntary aspect of both these schemes!)

Most units do have waiting lists.
