Black Rock Lave Net Heritage Fishery

Published: 20 February 2018

The last lave net fishery in Wales is based at Black Rock picnic site, Portskewett. The fishery has a rich history built up over many hundreds of years. The fishermen fish with traditional hand held nets which they have made from local materials. They fish in the shadow of the Second Severn Crossing and can be watched on suitable tides from the safety of the Black Rock picnic site which gives panoramic views of the Severn Estuary.
