Works in Magor and Undy

Published: 01 September 2017

Cllrs Jenny Barrell and Sally Bailey have been busy pulling ‘fat hen’ weeds from the roundabout and roadside verge at the entrance to Magor today.

Monmouthshire County Council planted these areas as part of their pollinator policy earlier in the year, but the flowers were overtaken by weeds (4 of the old green waste bags - full!)

The ladies then took a well-earned rest on one of the new replacement benches currently being installed by Paul Cawley and Brian Tayler (both registered volunteers with the Community Council).

Two benches were installed today, with a further ten new benches due to be sited across the community over the next few weeks.

The Parks and Open Spaces Committee have other works planned that will tidy up and improve the visual impact of the villages which will improve visitor experience to the villages whilst making it a better place to live, work and play.
