Grants & Financial Assistance

Each year, Magor with Undy Community Council allocates a small pot of money to assist local groups and organisations. 
A copy of the Magor with Undy Community Council 'Grant Funding Policy and Guidance'  is available on request from the clerk, as is a copy of the 'Grant Application Form' 

The Community Council also, on a regular basis, supports the Monmouthshire Citizens Advice Bureau, several youth provision projects and contributes towards the maintenance of the two local churchyards.

So far...

In 2017/2018 the Community Council allocated the following:

  •  The 1st & 2nd Magor Brownies
    £500 towards the cost of the coach to take the Brownies to their summer outward bound activities at Swindon
  • Monmouthshire Youth Services
    £48 for tennis coach fees for the Summer Outreach Sessions at Magor

Grants were also made to:

  • Caldicot Citizens Advice Bureau - £2000
  • Wales Air Ambulance - £750
  • SARA - £750
  • Mon CC Summer Holiday Scheme at Magor - £4000
  • St Mary's Undy Churchyard - £500
  • St Mary's Magor Churchyard - £500

In 2016/2017 the Community Council allocated the following:

  • Caldicot School
    £250 towards the 59 year celebration event
  • Monmouthshire County Council Library Service
    £100 contribution to 'Big Friendly Read' Children's prize
  • Monmouthshire Youth Services
    £127.50 towards Summer and October half term Outreach Sessions at Magor
  • Clean 4 The Queen
    £225 towards badges for the litter pick participants
  • The Zone Youth Club
    £100 towards support resources and/or sports equipment
  • Magor Players
    £200 towards a new sound system and lighting trusses
  •  St Marys Church Magor
    £250 towards the cost of roof repairs
  • Undy Church & Community Hall
    £250 towards the cost of IT equipment and Broadband
  • Gwent Wildlife Trust - Magor Marsh "Wildlife Warriors" -
    £550 towards the Wildlife Warriors youth project   
  • Undy AFC
    £600 for an external cabinet to house an AED (defibrillator), available 24/7 to the community, on the Clubhouse wall.

In 2015/2016 the Community Council allocated the following:

  • Magor Baptist Church Youth Club
    £1332 towards the cost of Mon CC Youth Support Workers
  • Gwent Wildlife Trust - Magor Marsh "Wildlife Warriors" -
    £550 towards the Wildlife Warriors youth project
  • Magor Action Group On Rail
    £500 towards administration, publicity and advertising
  • Undy Primary School - School Council
    £90 towards School Council activities
  • Magor Rangers
    £350 towards the purchase of 4 - 6 person tents for the newly formed Ranger Guides
  • The Zone Youth Club
    £100 towards support resources and/or sports equipment
  • National Eisteddfod 2016
    £800 towards the 2016 National Eisteddfod being held in Monmouthshire

  • Celtic Warrior Explorer Scouts
    £300 towards camping equipment for Duke of Edinburgh Awards
  • The Zone Youth Club
    £100 towards support resources and/or sports equipment
  • Magor CiW School Governors
    £250 towards raised beds in Faith & Spiritual Garden
  • Magor Players
    £200 towards plastic storage boxes for costumes and pops
  • Wiggles & Giggles Toddler Group
    £250 towards replacement toys and play equipment
  • Gwent Wildlife Trust - Magor Marsh "Wildlife Warriors" -
    £550 towards the Wildlife Warriors youth project

  • Magor Benefice Churchmens Society
    £600 towards new speakers for the Personal Address System
  • Wiggles & Giggles Playgroup
    £100 towards weekly activity materials
  • 1st Magor Scouts
    £325 towards replacement camping equipment

    £250 towards the running an Exhibition which includes hosting visits by all the children from Undy Primary School
  • Gwent Wildlife Trust - Magor Marsh -
    £3000 towards enlargement of a reed bed and management of willow
  • Wiggles & Giggles -
    £250 towards new baby mats and toys
  • 1st Undy Brownies & Rainbows -
    £250 towards storage and games

In 2010/2011 the Community Council allocated the following:

  • Undy Primary School -
    £150 towards Language Equipment to assist in teaching of the Welsh Language at home and in school
  • Magor Church In Wales School -
    £150 towards costs of running the 'Out of School Hours - Holiday Provision Club'
  • Severnside Neighbourhood Policing Team -
    £450 towards alarmed padlocks and radio PIR to offer at cost price to victims of crime in the Magor, Undy and Llandevenny area.
  • Gwent Wildlife Trust - Magor Marsh -
    £200 towards the Wildlife Warriors youth project.
